Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate or Associate Director to lead flood risk management projects for Local Authorities from our Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Cardiff or Leeds offices. You will shape delivery, mentor teams, and apply knowledge of the Flood Risk Management Act and planning guidance to develop sustainable drainage and flood strategies.

You'll work within a national, collaborative team, balancing budgets, schedules and client expectations while growing WSP’s technical capability across the

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental, geographical, science or engineering essential.
• Chartered status with C.WEM, CEnv, CSci or CEng desired for Principal or evidence of working towards chartership for Senior.
• Experience in flood risk management with local authorities or public/private sector mix.

Responsibilities

• Engaging with clients and developing trusted advisor relationships.
• Leading delivery of quality technical outputs and acting as reviewer/approver.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and overseeing small project teams.
• Managing projects with balance of programme, budget and quality requirements.
• Contributing to securing new projects and extensions.
• Promoting health & safety behaviours within the team.
• Growing WSP’s technical capability and innovation base.
