Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking experienced flood risk professionals to lead local authority projects across the UK. You will drive technical delivery, mentor junior staff, and manage projects end-to-end with an emphasis on budgets and timelines.

You will contribute to a diverse range of flood risk assignments, including investigations, strategies, and sustainable drainage, with opportunities to work from Leeds and other key sites within the national team.

Qualifications

• Experience in flood risk management with Local Authorities or similar public/private sector roles.
• Needs understanding of budgets and delivery of flood risk outputs.
• Knowledge of UK planning and flood legislation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Engaging positively with clients and building a trusted advisor network.
• Leading delivery of high-quality technical outputs, often as reviewer/approver.
• Mentoring junior colleagues and overseeing small project teams.
• Managing projects with attention to programme, budget and quality.
