Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a senior Fire Systems and Safety Engineering leader to guide complex design projects across mobility, building, and infrastructure sectors. You will spearhead technical delivery, client relationships, and multi-disciplinary team coordination to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes Chartered/CEng status, 3D BIM proficiency, and a proactive approach to mentoring, business development, and adherence to safety standards, with travel across the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

• Proven experience independently leading and managing complex design projects.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status preferred.
• IFE membership or chartered alternative is required.
• London Underground/Network Rail experience is highly regarded.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for assigned projects and ensure successful delivery
• Lead Fire Systems and Safety Engineering designs, feasibility studies, onsite surveys, snagging assessments, and validation of project assurance documentation
• Evaluate staff technical competence and identify training and mentoring needs
• Manage team-member development and performance
• Lead technical delivery of complex projects, ensuring client satisfaction and effective project management
• Drive standardization and automation of service offerings
• Develop technical client relationships and support business development and new-work acquisition
• Conduct design checks and reviews before project submission
• Plan resource requirements and delivery strategies for assigned projects
• Identify business opportunities and contribute to bids and tenders
• Maintain client relationships and lead marketing and networking of Arcadis services
• Contribute to skill-building, mentoring, and talent acquisition strategies
• Raise technical excellence within the fire engineering discipline
• Contribute to sustainable development, NetZero, and environmental initiatives
• Generate repeat business and promote Arcadis’ full suite of capabilities
