Senior Financial Accountant

We are delighted to be partnering with a leading business based locally seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join their UK finance team—someone technically strong, audit‑minded, and keen to grow into a broader commercial role over time. This position is ideal for an ambitious qualified accountant from practice or industry looking to further develop within a stable, international business.

The Senior Financial Accountant will take ownership of core financial reporting, month‑end close, audit coordination, and statutory accounts preparation. While the role is initially compliance‑focused, there is genuine scope to become more strategically and commercially involved as the individual progresses.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing monthly financial reporting under IFRS and FRS 102
• Ensuring accuracy and completeness of general ledger reconciliations
• Acting as the primary liaison with external auditors
• Managing internal audit requests and documentation
• Drafting annual financial statements
• Supporting consolidation and group reporting requirements
• Maintaining internal controls and meeting regulatory obligations
• Driving process improvements and strengthening control environments

Candidate profile

• ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
• Strong audit background—ideal for candidates from top‑tier or mid‑tier firms
• Experience leading teams or managing projects
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical ability
• Comfortable working with large data sets
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced Excel
• SAP or HFM experience (desirable)
