Job summary

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to develop and optimise advanced control systems that deliver high performance, reliability and consistency on track.

You will combine embedded software, control theory, modelling and hands-on testing from simulation through HIL to track, collaborating across Control Systems, Transmission & Driveline and Trackside Support to turn complex engineering challenges into competitive advantage.

Qualifications

• F1 SECU software development experience including transmission control and power unit interfaces.
• Embedded software for TAG-700 or TAG-320B platforms.
• Real-time control systems with MATLAB/Simulink and code generation.
• Strong control theory, modelling and simulation of electronic control systems.
• ECU calibration and high-speed data acquisition experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for F1 SECU apps across transmission control and brake-by-wire.
• Develop and optimise seamless shift gearbox control strategies and ECU calibrations across SIL, HIL, and test environments.
• Develop powertrain models and HIL simulations to improve calibration and validation.
• Analyse telemetry and high-speed data to identify issues and improve performance and reliability.
• Develop and optimise wider vehicle control systems, including differential and clutch control.
• Own control systems projects from specification to delivery and maintenance.
• Create software tools for system configuration, calibration, monitoring and data analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and support trackside testing and race events.
