Aston Martin Formula One Team in Silverstone seeks a Senior Control Systems Engineer to develop embedded software for SECU applications, optimise gearbox control, and model powertrain dynamics. You will work across SIL/HIL environments and use high-speed data to enhance performance on track.

The role requires real-time control expertise, strong calibration skills, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to sustain competitive race engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Essential experience developing F1 SECU software, including transmission control, torque arbitration, brake-by-wire systems and power unit interfaces.
• Experience developing embedded software for high-performance control applications.
• Strong background in real-time control systems and model-based design.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software for F1 SECU applications (transmission control, torque arbitration, brake-by-wire, power unit interfaces).
• Design and optimise shift gearbox control strategies and ECU calibrations across SIL, HIL, gearbox test cell, powertrain dyno and track environments.
• Create powertrain models and HIL simulations to improve calibration and testing.
• Analyse telemetry and high-speed data to diagnose issues and improve reliability and performance.
• Collaborate across Control Systems, Transmission & Driveline and Trackside Support to deliver competitive results.
