Job summary

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is seeking a Data Science Engineer to apply advanced modelling and AI to optimise the performance of our Formula One car. You will work with CFD, wind tunnel and track data to accelerate simulation and improve predictive capabilities.

You will design robust data pipelines and apply surrogate models, emulators and reduced-order methods while collaborating with Vehicle Science, Simulation and Modelling, and Aerodynamics to embed insights into engineering

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical and data-driven modelling, including reduced-order modelling and surrogate models.
• Excellent programming skills in Python with scientific computing and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, JAX or PyTorch.
• Ability to evaluate models and draw robust conclusions from complex data.
• Proactive, results-oriented with good technical judgment and prioritisation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mathematical, physics-based and data-driven models to improve analysis and aerodynamic performance.
• Design data pipelines integrating CFD, wind tunnel, track data and other sources.
• Apply AI and ML techniques to improve predictive capability and accelerate simulation.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Science, Simulation and Modelling, Aerodynamics and other teams to embed insights into workflows.
• Analyze datasets, evaluate model performance and present findings clearly.
