Job summary

Aston Martin Aramco Formula 1 Team is seeking a Data Science Engineer to apply mathematical modelling and AI to accelerate simulation and improve predictive capabilities across aerodynamics and related engineering disciplines.

You will work with CFD, wind tunnel data and track data, turning complex insights into better engineering decisions while collaborating with Vehicle Science, Simulation and Modelling, and Aerodynamics teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of mathematical and data-driven modelling, including surrogate models and predictive algorithms.
• Analytical skills across modelling and data analysis; experience with physical systems is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as scikit-learn, JAX or PyTorch.
• Ability to evaluate models and draw evidence-based conclusions from complex data.
• Proactive, results-oriented, with good technical judgement under pressure.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust mathematical, physics-based and data-driven models.
• Design scalable data pipelines integrating CFD, wind tunnel, and track data.
• Apply AI/ML techniques to improve predictive capability and accelerate simulation.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Science, Aerodynamics and other teams to embed insights.
• Analyse datasets, evaluate model performance and present findings clearly.
• Maintain data quality, integrity and traceability across modelling workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable code with version control.
