Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking an Estimator/Senior Estimator to deliver high-quality cost estimates across the project lifecycle in the UK. You will define scope, develop cost plans using diverse estimating techniques, and ensure estimates reflect risks, opportunities, and uncertainties with clear, well-documented outputs for planning and financial control.

The role requires an Engineering/QS degree (or equivalent), accreditation with AcostE/RICS/CIOB (or in progress), experience in process-heavy

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying.
• Accreditation with AcostE / RICS / CIOB or working towards.
• Experience in process-heavy sectors such as Water, Energy, Oil and Gas.
• Familiarity with estimating packages such as Candy, Conquest, CostOS, CostX, etc.
• MS Office proficiency and experience in infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost estimate development through all project lifecycles from concept to handover.
• Use first-principle bottom-up and parametric top-down estimating methods.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture and record estimating scope.
• Establish Work Breakdown and Cost Breakdown Structures using CESMM4, NRM, RMM, HWMM.
• Ensure all cost elements—escalation, land, admin, direct/indirect costs—are included.
