Job summary

3D Personnel's client in London is seeking a Senior Estimator to deliver accurate cost estimates for large civil and mechanical projects. You will manage tender documentation, issue enquiries to subcontractors, and log RFIs.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 6+ years in a similar estimator position, with strong IT skills and meticulous attention to detail to help drive competitive bids and value engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in a similar estimator role.
• Strong IT and computer skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming tender documents and provide the team with relevant information.
• Send out enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, outlining scope, responsibilities, and requirements.
• Follow up on outstanding quotes and keep the enquiry tracker updated throughout the tender process.
• Raise and log tender queries or RFIs that need clarification.
• Identify gaps or missing information in tender packages and compile notes and estimator comments.
• Assist in building out the project’s risk register and opportunity log.
• Prepare a value engineering list with viable cost-saving options.
• Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotes for competitiveness and compliance with the spec.
• Prepare cost summaries for internal review showing net costs, risks, and opportunities.
• Pull together final tender documents for submission (forms, BOQs, etc.).
