Mott MacDonald is hiring an Estimator/Senior Estimator to deliver high-quality cost estimates across project and programme lifecycles. You will develop cost plans, apply multiple estimating techniques, and work with stakeholders to capture scope and assumptions.

Qualifications

• HNC / HND or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Professional accreditation with AcostE / RICS / CIOB or working towards.
• Experience in process-heavy sectors such as Water, Energy, Oil and Gas.
• Familiarity with estimating packages such as CANDY, CONQUEST, CAUSEWAY, COST OS, COST X.
• MS Office suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience in infrastructure projects and stakeholder collaboration.
• Knowledge of TOTEX concepts for whole life cost solutions.

Responsibilities

• Hold responsibility for cost estimate development through all stages from concept to delivery and handover.
• Undertake estimates using bottom-up and top-down methods.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to record scope of estimating activities.
• Establish Work Breakdown and Cost Breakdown Structures with standard measurement methods.
• Ensure all cost stack elements including escalation, land, admin, direct/indirect costs are captured.
• Support risk and opportunity identification and pre/post-mitigation cost impacts.
• Develop contingency calculations as part of project team risk management.
• Challenge sustainability and consider embodied and operational carbon.
