Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Senior Surveyor to join the Strategic Property Management team. You will manage the Council's extensive land and property estate, leading corporate estate tasks including acquisitions, disposals, valuations, lease renewals and rent reviews.

You will engage with colleagues to optimise occupancy and use, and provide professional guidance on property management matters. Hybrid working and a generous rewards package are offered.

Qualifications

Degree-level education in property or a related subject.
Full membership of the RICS (Grade 12).
Evidence of continued professional development.
Significant estate management experience including valuation, acquisitions, disposals, leasing/letting, covenants and compensation.

Responsibilities

Deliver effective management of the Council's estate and ensure efficient use and occupation.
Lead on acquisitions, disposals, valuations, lease renewals, rent reviews and other landlord/tenant matters.
Identify opportunities for rationalisation and disposal and coordinate corporate estate management activities.
