Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Consultant to coordinate environmental inputs for EIA screening and reporting across UK projects. You will review technical chapters, engage with stakeholders, and support multiple consenting regimes from early strategy through to construction and operation.

You will work within a national team, flexing across offices and a hybrid model. The role emphasizes quality, collaboration, and continuous professional development in environmental services.

Qualifications

• A degree in a relevant environmental discipline (preferably a Masters degree) and an appropriate professional membership.
• EIA consultancy experience, including coordinating the preparation of environmental reports and the technical review of specialist chapters.
• A developing understanding of relevant consenting regimes.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of an established team, coordinating inputs from specialist technical teams.
• Developing project management skills, including programming and budget management.
• A commitment to innovation and continuing professional development.
• Experience of the DCO and/ or TWAO consenting regimes would be beneficial, but not essential.
• Efficient verbal and report writing skills, including technical reviewing, and confidence when engaging with a wide variety of stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide Expertise:Coordinate environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports, environmental assessments/ Environmental Statements (and in the future Environmental Outcomes Reports) and supporting documents, including the technical review of specialist chapters.
• Ensure Quality:Deliverables produced to high quality standards.
• Project Management:Develop project management skills by coordinating resources and budgets.
• Collaborate:Work with integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes and identify mitigation solutions.
• Client Contact:Direct contact with clients and internal supply teams.
• Growth:Promote AECOM’s environmental services and support business development.
