Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Principal Environmental Consultant to lead EIA-related environmental inputs for major infrastructure projects across the UK. The role covers screening, scoping and Environmental Statements, with exposure to various consenting regimes and client engagement.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, ensure quality, manage budgets, and pursue growth opportunities while flexible hybrid work remains a staple of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of EIA and environmental assessment methods.
• Experience with planning legislation and consenting regimes.
• Professional membership and mentoring interest are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide Expertise: manage environmental inputs to EIA screening, scoping, and Environmental Statements across project life cycle.
• Ensure Quality: deliverables meet high quality standards and procedures.
• Project Management: manage resources and budgets with support.
• Collaborate: work with integrated design teams to improve environmental outcomes.
• Client Contact: manage relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Growth: identify and lead business development opportunities and fee proposals.
