Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to lead environmental inputs to EIA projects and manage environmental statements across a portfolio of infrastructure schemes. You will oversee screening, scoping, and technical reviews, guiding projects from early planning through construction with a focus on quality and regulatory compliance.

The role offers flexible hybrid working across UK offices, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant environmental discipline (Masters preferred).
• Chartered Environmentalist status or membership in a recognized body is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of EIA and planning legislation, with experience of DCO/TWAO a bonus.
• Experience in consultancy and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports and Environmental Statements.
• Review specialist chapters and advise on mitigation and compliance.
• Manage projects through lifecycle from strategy to construction.
• Collaborate with integrated design teams and manage client relationships.
