Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to work on EIA projects with a flexible, hybrid model across the UK, including Leeds. You will lead environmental inputs to screening, scoping, and Environmental Statements on a portfolio of infrastructure schemes.

The role requires a degree in an environmental discipline (Masters preferred), Chartered Environmentalist status, and strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge of planning legislation.

Qualifications

• Degree in an environmental discipline, preferably at Masters level.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary environmental inputs to infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of EIA methods, planning legislation and licensing regimes.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports, Environmental Statements and related documents.
• Lead environmental assessments and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Coordinate with design teams and clients across multiple projects.
• Identify environmental constraints and mitigation opportunities; support business development.
