Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to lead environmental inputs to EIA projects across a hybrid work model in the UK. You will drive screening, scoping and environmental statements, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and ensuring quality across project lifecycles.

The role requires strong EIA knowledge, regulatory expertise, and the ability to manage relationships with clients and internal teams while pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental discipline, ideally Master’s level with relevant professional membership (Chartered Environmentalist preferred).
• Strong knowledge of EIA, planning legislation and consenting regimes (DCO/TWAO would be a bonus).
• Experience delivering consultancy services with project and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Manage environmental inputs to EIA screening and scoping reports and Environmental Statements across multiple projects.
• Ensure deliverables meet high quality standards and our quality management procedures.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, align with design teams, and identify mitigation options.
• Manage client relationships and internal delivery teams across phases.
• Lead business development opportunities and fee/proposal development.
