Job summary

TWI Ltd, based in Cambridge, is seeking an Engineer or Senior Engineer to join the Friction Welding & Processing team. On-site, full-time role, focusing on industrial R&D, development and consultancy for aerospace, defence, energy, manufacturing and transport sectors.

You will work with leading experts to advance welding and processing technologies, solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to funded research and client work.

Qualifications

• A degree, MSc or PhD in Materials Engineering or related field is required.
• Experience in friction welding or solid-state joining is advantageous.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing/research/technology environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver industrial research, development and consultancy projects.
• Design and execute experimental programmes for friction welding and solid-state joining.
• Analyse technical data and produce high-quality reports and recommendations.
• Support client enquiries and develop innovative engineering solutions.
• Contribute to commercially funded and collaborative research programmes.
