Job summary

TWI Ltd, a world-leading engineering and materials expert, seeks a Principal Engineer to provide technical leadership across space, aerospace, nuclear, automotive and defence programmes. You will drive complex projects, engage with industry partners and government stakeholders, and influence strategic direction.

The role requires a degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing or Materials Science, Chartered status preferred, and willingness to travel within the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Manufacturing or Materials Science
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards Chartered status
• Experience in highly regulated industries (aerospace, space, defence, nuclear, automotive)
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
• BPSS clearance; existing clearance advantageous

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of complex engineering and research programmes
• Act as technical authority across key industry sectors
• Develop trusted relationships with customers, industry partners and government stakeholders
• Identify and secure new business opportunities
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and mentor staff
• Represent TWI at customer meetings, conferences and industry events
• Support growth of TWI's technical capabilities and strategic objectives
