Job summary

Sovos is seeking a Principal Solution Architect for Embedded Platforms to shape how our technology is embedded in partner products. You will lead strategic discovery, design scalable integration solutions, and mentor architects while aligning with product strategy and compliance expertise.

Based in a global tax technology environment, you will build executive relationships, drive governance, and influence platform direction across cloud-native architectures, APIs, and event-driven integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in product, tax/ERP technology consulting or enterprise software.
• Proven understanding of global tax compliance and indirect tax processes.
• Experience designing enterprise integration solutions using APIs and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with tax compliance, ERP integration, or regulatory technology platforms.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior executives.
• Willingness to travel 10–25% for partner engagements and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and solution architecture for strategic ISV partnerships.
• Design scalable embedded compliance solutions and integration architectures.
• Review API integration approaches including REST APIs and webhooks.
• Establish governance and testing frameworks for partner integrations.
• Set strategic technical objectives across embedded partnerships.
• Deliver executive presentations and architecture workshops.
• Mentor Solution Architects and influence product direction.
