Rapiscan, an OSI Systems, Inc. company, seeks a Senior Electronics Technician to bring electronic designs to life across our scanning systems.

You will collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams through concept, prototyping, production and continuous improvement. The role requires hands-on PCB design, prototyping, testing and documentation, with experience in soldering, PCB software (Altium) and test equipment.

• Essentials: BTEC Level 3 / HNC/HND in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
• Strong soldering and cable assembly experience

Role Overview

As a Senior Electronics Technician, you will play a key role in bringing electronic designs to life across our scanning systems. Working closely with engineers and cross-functional teams, you will support the full product lifecycle—from concept and prototyping through to production and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

Design & Prototyping

• Build and validate electronic prototypes
• Create PCB layouts from schematics
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers
• Develop 3D-printed components where required

Testing & Validation

• Develop and execute test plans
• Use equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters

Documentation & Support

• Produce CAD drawings and BOMs
• Support production, commissioning, and field service
• Contribute to product improvements

Lab & Infrastructure

• Maintain the electronics lab and test equipment
• Manage component libraries and PCB data

Qualifications

Essential

• BTEC Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical Engineering
• Strong soldering and cable assembly experience
• Experience with test equipment
• Experience with PCB software (e.g. Altium)

Desirable

• Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering
• Experience in manufacturing or PCB environments
• Knowledge of embedded systems, microprocessors, FPGAs
• 5+ years’ relevant experience
