Job summary

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion & Storage (PCS) seeks a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to drive architecture, design and delivery of high‑reliability electrical power systems for demanding marine and defence applications.

You will lead from concept through commissioning, engaging with mechanical, controls, manufacturing, procurement and testing teams to ensure integrated solutions that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and relevant practical experience
• Working towards or hold CEng qualification
• Experience leading multidisciplinary electrical systems teams
• Experience with IEC/BS/IEEE/UL standards
• Willingness to travel within UK and overseas

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical systems design from concept through commissioning, including architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams and interface definitions
• Develop, review and manage technical specifications and design deliverables
• Perform electrical calculations, load analyses, simulations, protection coordination and fault analysis
• Ensure designs meet safety, regulatory and customer standards
• Provide technical leadership to project teams and coordinate with cross‑functional stakeholders
• Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver integrated electrical system solutions
• Plan, schedule and manage engineering activities to meet cost, time and quality targets
• Support and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and tools
