Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our Electrification team at the Marine Power Test Facility (MPTF) in Whetstone, UK. You will contribute to validating and shaping advanced electrical power systems for one of the world’s most unique test facilities.

This permanent on-site role requires liaising with customers, suppliers and colleagues to deliver high‑quality power system solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with power system modelling and simulation tools.
• Knowledge of marine classification society, IEC, MIL or DEF standards.
• Experience in testing, validation and documentation processes.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with electrical, mechanical and fluid systems.

Responsibilities

• Support or perform Power System studies and analysis using MATLAB, DigSilent, ETAP, PSCAD, or PSSE.
• Generate specifications for LV/HV switchboards, generators, cables, power electronics, transformers, motors and auxiliaries.
• Ensure designs comply with requirements and health & safety standards.
• Produce clear engineering documentation and manage the review cycle.
• Provide technical input for commissioning and testing operations.
• Review and analyse data from multiple sources and prepare technical reports.
