Job summary

Mott MacDonald Bentley is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to water sector projects across the UK. You will design electrical systems for water treatment equipment, coordinate with the design team, and ensure specifications meet client and regulatory standards.

The role involves liaising with clients, travelling to sites, and delivering robust electrical designs within time and budget constraints. A degree in Electrical Engineering and progress towards IEng/CEng are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Working towards IEng / CEng with a relevant Engineering Institution.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Methodical approach to problem solving.
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across your operational region.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare electrical engineering designs for water treatment equipment on client sites.
  • Work with Motor Control Centres, LV distribution systems, Cabling, Instrumentation, Industrial Networks, PLCs and SCADA.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary design team to meet brief, programme and budget.
  • Produce technical specifications and procurement schedules; review tender bids and technical submissions.
  • Prepare URS for control systems; review supplier FDS; attend factory acceptance tests.
  • Review and understand existing installed systems to interface with site
  • Engage with client, manage relationships and support project aims.
