Job summary

AECOM Limited is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for its Data Centre MEP team in London (Aldgate Tower). The role is hybrid with delivery of electrical design for data centres across projects.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, deliver electrical designs, supervise site activities, and travel as needed, including international assignments. Chartered Engineer or equivalent status is expected, with strong building services background.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate experience in a building services design role with focus on data centres.
• Conversant with ETAP, Relux/Dialux, MS Project, AutoCAD and Revit software packages.
• Familiar with regulations, standards and industry good practice; able to produce designs for all stages of RIBA plan of work; perform site supervision and inspection; produce feasibility reports.
• The ability to apply their own initiative under guidance and supervision from a Principal engineer and the wider team.
• Full clean driving licence and passport; willing and able to travel to projects across the region and beyond, including internationally.
• Security Clearance will be required to work on some projects.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering (building services bias preferred) or equivalent post-qualification experience.
• Member of IET or CIBSE; CEng accredited or working towards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the electrical delivery on small to mid-sized projects.
• Provide specialised technical input to studies and design for staff’s area of expertise.
• Manage own workload and meet deadlines on assigned tasks.
• Demonstrate a self-starter attitude and use initiative to solve problems.
• Present technical solutions to clients and peers.
• Participate in development of technical proposals.
• Attend design team and coordination meetings; attend site inspection meetings as required.
• Liaise with clients, professional organisations, contractors and other design team members.
