WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks an experienced Senior to Associate Electrical Engineer for the Data Centre sector in Glasgow or Edinburgh. The role focuses on mission critical facilities with opportunities to lead designs, advise clients, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will develop HV to LV electrical distribution concepts, produce specifications, and monitor installations while engaging with clients to define requirements and deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

• Chartered status with CIBSE or IET (or working towards Chartered status) or equivalent experience.
• Technical knowledge of relevant UK & EU regulations, design guides, etc.
• IT literate with a technical understanding of IT packages (Trimble)
• Understanding of ETAP software for HV modelling
• Understanding of Neher–McGrath method for cable temperatures & ampacity
• Understanding of Tier classifications per The Uptime Institute, TIA942 and EN50600
• Ability to lead and mentor team members
• Familiarity with RevitMEP or other 3D design software for allocation of work
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for project direction
• UK Security Check (SC) eligibility

Responsabilités

• Develop conceptual electrical distribution designs from EHV/HV/MV to LV.
• Advise clients on electrical system options to meet business needs.
• Lead the design of data centre electrical systems and equipment.
• Produce design development notes detailing system options.
• Create technical specifications for electrical systems to standards.
• Coordinate with Architects and Structural engineers.
• Prepare tender documentation and equipment specifications.
• Monitor installation to ensure conformance with design and safety codes.
• Engage with clients to discuss requirements and provide clear options.
• Collaborate within the WSP global project team.
