Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Director for our Birmingham data centres team. You will lead a high-calibre engineering group, shaping electrical design strategies and overseeing critical facilities projects across the UK and EMEA.

Based in Birmingham with a hybrid working model, you’ll mentor engineers, drive innovation, manage budgets, and foster strong client relationships to secure significant mission-critical programmes.

Qualifications

• Chartered status or actively working towards CIBSE/IET/Engineering Council.
• Deep understanding of electrical systems, power distribution and critical back-up.
• Proven leadership in large engineering teams and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day management of the Electrical/DC team, setting vision and values.
• Develop client relationships and promote WSP in the UK and Europe, Middle East & Africa.
• Meet budgets at team level and manage MEP budgets and forecasting.
• Drive profitable, sustainable work-winning and maintain a robust pipeline.
• Oversee team performance including finance and operations.
• Collaborate with clients, developers, contractors and architects to secure projects.
• Act as the client's main point of contact.
