Job summary

WSP seeks an Associate/Associate Director to lead environmental consents for onshore renewables in the UK. You will drive planning approvals, EIA integration and stakeholder engagement, guiding multi-disciplinary teams and supporting business development.

You will manage complex projects, foster collaboration across design and engineering, and mentor colleagues while advancing strategy and client relationships in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Environmental or planning degree with chartered status or working toward chartership.
• Experience delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for onshore renewables.
• Familiarity with Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) and planning processes.
• Strong client communications and stakeholder engagement.
• Knowledge of environmental and planning policy trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; report writing and QA.
• Proven people management experience and team development.
• Experience contributing to strategic planning and bids.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental contributions across project designs and assessments.
• Direct and lead projects including recruitment, bidding and team management.
• Drive winning new business through bids and proposals.
• Promote innovation through Digital EIA, Technical Excellence and Future Ready EIA.
• Build strong client relationships and stakeholder engagement.
• Ensure health, safety and quality standards are met across projects.
• Support resourcing, delivery and project planning.
