Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Associate/Associate Director/Technical Director to join its Environmental Consents nationwide team in the UK. The role focuses on leading environmental design, assessment, and management across energy projects, with responsibility for recruitment, bidding, project delivery, and financial oversight.

Qualifications

• Relevant environmental / planning degree or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrable experience in EIA delivery for major water schemes.
• Familiarity with Habitats Regulations Assessments, SSSI Assents.
• Thorough knowledge of a diverse range of environmental issues.
• Proven line management experience.
• Proven track record of developing and upskilling internal teams.
• Evidence of successfully driving business growth.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental teams and inputs to project designs and assessments.
• Direct and lead projects including recruitment, bidding, team management, delivery.
• Expansion of offer in the water sector and win new business.
• Provide environmental advice and support to clients and project managers.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to promote sustainable design.
• Drive performance, career development, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop proposals for complex opportunities and strategic bids.
