Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join a growing Ecology Team. You will work across a varied portfolio, conducting surveys, producing assessments, and designing mitigation and licensing strategies with autonomy and support from an experienced team.

You hold a BSc in Ecology, have consultancy experience, a protected species licence, and strong communication/leadership skills to guide projects and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc in Ecology or related field.
• Solid consultancy experience on ecological projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK/EU wildlife legislation and policy.
• Protected species licence for at least one species (e.g., bats or great crested newts).
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys and assessments across sectors.
• Design and implement mitigation and enhancement measures.
• Prepare protected species licence applications and accompany licensing processes.
• Mentor junior ecologists and contribute to team training.
