Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. invites an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to join our growing Ecology Team in the UK. You will work across diverse projects, conducting surveys, designing mitigation, and supporting licensing for protected species.

You will mentor junior ecologists and collaborate with planners, engineers, and designers to deliver ecologically sound outcomes. You will hold a minimum BSc in Ecology or related field and bring consultancy experience with UK/EU wildlife

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc in Ecology or a related environmental discipline and solid consultancy experience.
• Solid understanding of UK and EU wildlife legislation and policy.
• Experience preparing PEAs, ECIs, ecological chapters, HRAs, and working with Defra Biodiversity Metric.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surveys and ecological assessments; design and implement mitigation and enhancement measures.
• Apply for and obtain protected species licences and provide ecological input to multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior ecologists and take on complex projects with autonomy.
