Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to drive the design and verification of electrical systems for a UK SMR nuclear project. You will define architecture, specify equipment, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver fully verified, high-performance solutions.

Role involves requirements management, design, verification, and regulatory compliance within a hybrid work setup, with opportunities to influence standards and share knowledge across IPTs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building electrical services design.
• Expertise in space management, cable routing, and cable management.
• Strong team player with ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Define & Manage Requirements – review, refine and document high-level electrical requirements; capture interfaces and quality attributes.
• Design, Analyze & Verify – develop robust electrical system designs; perform modeling and simulation; coordinate verification activities with the Verification team.
• Ensure Compliance & Quality – ensure engineering excellence; conduct technical reviews and regulatory/safety compliance.
• Support Strategy & Risk Management – assist in capacity planning; identify risks and mitigation strategies.
• Develop & Share Knowledge – create policies, procedures, training materials; share knowledge across teams.
• Collaborate & Represent – work with IPTs; represent electrical engineering in meetings with regulators, customers, and suppliers.
