Job summary

Assystem in the United Kingdom seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer for the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit to lead the design and verification of electrical systems for an SMR power plant. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and apply a structured systems engineering approach across the full lifecycle.

Your mission includes translating high-level requirements into validated designs, capturing constraints, and guiding verification activities.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related subject.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry.
• Willingness to travel to Assystem offices and customer sites in the UK.
• BPSS and SC security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level electrical requirements including testability.
• Translate requirements into validated electrical system designs.
• Capture design constraints and quality attributes for systems/components.
• Document requirements and interfaces in project processes (e.g., IBM DOORS).
• Design and implement electrical designs to meet inputs.
• Collaborate with Verification to define verification activities.
• Analyse designs with modelling/simulation; develop tests to prove compliance.
• Support capacity planning and long-term goals for the team.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and maintain quality.
