Job summary

Assystem is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of Electrical Systems for an SMR nuclear power plant in the UK. You will design architecture, subsystems and equipment, working with cross‑functional teams to realise a verified design and meet project constraints.

You will translate high level requirements into validated electrical designs, define verification activities with the Verification team, and participate in risk reviews and governance gates

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in electrical engineering and operate within a highly regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work across multiple teams and interfaces.
• Security clearance requirements (BPSS/SC) and UK travel could be involved.

Responsibilities

• Review and agree high level electrical requirements and testability.
• Translate requirements into validated electrical designs and specifications.
• Design electrical systems and components to meet inputs and constraints.
• Collaborate with verification to define and execute verification activities.
• Analyze designs for functional behaviour, including modelling and simulations.
• Support capacity planning and strategic goals for the team.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and develop procedures and guidelines.
• Engage with external organisations including regulators, customers, and suppliers.
