Job summary

Assystem seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the design of electrical systems for a Small Modular Reactor (SMR) power plant. You will integrate system architecture, sub-systems, and equipment specifications to realise a verified design.

You will collaborate with engineering teams across the plant, applying a structured systems engineering approach, validating requirements and supporting verification activities to ensure high-quality, compliant designs. Hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree level qualification in electrical engineering or a related subject.
• Experience in working in a highly regulated industry.
• Ability to travel to Assystem offices and customer sites within UK.
• BPSS and SC required.

Responsibilities

• Review high level electrical requirements including their testability.
• Translate requirements into a validated electrical design.
• Define verification activities with the Verification team.
• Analyse electrical designs for functional behaviour and simulate as needed.
• Develop and review electrical tests to evidence requirement satisfaction.
• Support capacity planning and long-term team goals.
• Identify and mitigate risks across projects.
• Maintain procedures, guidelines, tools and training.
• Communicate design aspects with regulators, customers and suppliers.
• Represent electrical engineering in meetings and IPTs.
