Job summary

Assystem is seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join the Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit in the UK. You will lead the complete electrical design lifecycle for SMR projects, from architecture through component specification, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver verified designs.

You will review high-level requirements, translate them into detailed designs, capture constraints, and work with verification teams to plan tests and validation.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related subject.
• Experience in highly regulated industries.
• Willingness to travel within the UK to Assystem offices and customer sites.
• BPSS and SC security clearances required.

Responsibilities

• Review high level electrical requirements and verify testability.
• Translate requirements into validated electrical designs.
• Capture design constraints and quality attributes for the system.
• Document interfaces and requirements per project processes.
• Design and implement electrical designs to meet inputs.
• Collaborate with Verification to define verification activities.
• Analyse electrical designs using modelling and simulation to prove compliance.
• Support capacity planning and long-term team goals.
• Identify and mitigate risks.
• Represent electrical engineering in meetings and IPTs.
