GM Performance Power Units in Norwich seeks a lead engineer to drive the MGU e-motor integration within a hybrid powertrain, overseeing cross-disciplinary teams in electromagnetics, mechanical design, thermal, controls, and advanced manufacturing to optimize for max power density, efficiency and race reliability.

You will supervise prototype development, dynamometer testing, and data-driven iterations, guiding design reviews, FMEA, and FIA compliance to deliver race-ready solutions while

Qualifications

• 8+ years in high-speed electric motors, motorsport ERS, or hybrid powertrains.
• Master's/PhD with 5+ years preferred.
• Expertise in CAD, CAE/FEA, and PLM for e-motor simulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-disciplinary teams to integrate and optimize the MGU within the hybrid powertrain.
• Oversee prototype development and dynamometer testing programs.
• Drive data-driven iterations and ensure FIA F1 compliance.
• Direct design reviews, FMEA processes, and documentation.
• Foster innovation through advanced materials and manufacturing advancements.
