Job summary

OCU Group is seeking a Senior Document Controller in Stockport to lead the Document Control team within the Large Energy Programmes department. You will drive compliance and efficiency in information management across a growing energy portfolio.

The role requires hands-on leadership, ISO 19650-2 implementation, and governance of project information, with close collaboration across project management, engineering, design and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ Document Control experience within construction, energy, engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with EDMS platforms such as Viewpoint, Aconex, ASITE, SharePoint or ACC.
• Strong knowledge of document control processes and quality management.
• Excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to lead by example and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the Document Control team with coaching and training.
• Allocate workloads and manage project priorities and deadlines.
• Embed ISO 19650-2 requirements across live projects and CDE governance.
• Oversee document systems configuration and optimisation (ACC Forma, Viewpoint, Aconex).
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and contractual obligations.
• Manage document registration, review, distribution and handover documentation.
• Produce management reports, identify risks and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants and suppliers to coordinate information exchanges.
• Drive continuous improvement and audit readiness across the function.
