Travelers Companies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Underwriter to produce and underwrite new and renewal business from assigned brokers. You’ll balance risk, pricing, and profitability while coaching others and developing broker relationships.

The role combines underwriting and sales with a hybrid work model, three days in the office and two at home. The ideal candidate has university degree and underwriting experience in financial institutions or professional indemnity, with strong

Qualifications

• University degree and/or CII Advanced Certification or Diploma.
• Knowledge of industry operations and financial drivers that affect underwriting.
• Local insurance marketplace knowledge and Lloyd's market insight.
• Analytical thinking and financial acumen for underwriting decisions.

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and assess risk for products and accounts from assigned brokers.
• Make decisions within own underwriting authority and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Underwrite more complex accounts and consider pricing, retention, endorsements and limits.
• Negotiate terms and conditions within submission timeframe.
• Develop and leverage broker/client relationships to win new business.
• Deliver timely underwriting service and maintain quality of business.
