Job summary

Travelers Europe is seeking a Development Underwriter to grow new business and strengthen broker partnerships across the South of England. You will assess risk, negotiate terms and quote/bind coverage while driving profitability and broker collaboration.

The role supports a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two at home, and requires travel to broker meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience and market knowledge.
• Ability to analyse financial information and assess risk.
• Strong broker relationship and negotiation skills.
• Awareness of regulatory environment and local insurance market.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth and retention of assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate moderate risks to maximise profitability.
• Actively target new business and retention.
• Collaborate to identify cross-selling opportunities with internal partners.
• Travel to meetings as required to engage brokers.
