Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced Underwriter in the Greater London area to manage and underwrite new and renewal business from assigned brokers. You will balance underwriting authority, profitability, and growth while coaching others on underwriting practices.

The role combines underwriting with active broker development, requiring collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver superior outcomes and client service.

Qualifications

• University degree and/or CII Advanced Certification or Diploma.
• Knowledge of Lloyd's Market and underwriting practices.
• Experience in underwriting management liability / professional indemnity / financial institutions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and assess risk for products and accounts from assigned brokers.
• Apply underwriting authority to make informed decisions within guidelines.
• Develop broker relationships and manage client engagements.
• Contribute to product segment strategies to meet budgeted results.
• Collaborate with Head Office, Risk Control, Claims, Actuarial and other teams.
• Lead regional/product underwriting and sales meetings and drive results.
