Job summary

Travelers is seeking an experienced Underwriter in the UK to manage a diverse book of business. You will underwrite, negotiate terms, and actively manage risk across products to drive profitability and growth. Collaboration with brokers and internal teams will be key to achieving targets and expanding the portfolio.

You will mentor junior underwriters, contribute to retention strategies, and travel to meetings as needed while upholding Travelers' standards and risk appetite.

Qualifications

• Strong underwriting experience and product knowledge.
• Strong financial analysis and risk assessment background.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with brokers.

Responsibilities

• Manage profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate moderate to complex risks to maximise profitability.
• Proactively manage portfolio to achieve KPIs and target new business.
• Identify opportunities to write additional lines of business with knowledge of products and risk appetite.
• Develop and execute retention plans and support the new business teams.
• Train and mentor less experienced underwriters.
