Job summary

Together is hiring a Desktop Support Engineer to join our Service Desk in Cheadle. You will resolve incidents, handle service requests, and provide expertise across Windows Server environments, Exchange Online, and Microsoft 365.

The role emphasizes ownership of tickets, asset and licence management, and collaboration with IT teams to deliver a secure, reliable user experience. You will mentor colleagues, contribute to knowledge bases, and support ongoing IT projects while maintaining compliance

Qualifications

Experience in a Desktop Support / 2nd line role.
Strong problem-solving skills with tight timescales.
Experience in ITIL-aligned environments.
Advanced technical support and configuration of desktop software and hardware.
Clear testing and technical documentation skills.
Knowledge of Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
Experience with Intune, Autopilot, and Microsoft 365.
Familiarity with backup technologies and encryption tools.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to colleagues across the business via multiple channels.
Own incidents from start to finish and manage the support queue to meet SLAs.
Maintain accurate ticket records and manage IT assets and licences.
Support onboarding, offboarding and RBAC processes.
Mentor colleagues and create knowledge articles to improve efficiency.
Contribute to IT projects and deployment of new technologies.
Investigate recurring issues and perform root cause analysis.
Ensure service quality and compliance with policies and procedures.
