Job summary

Together Financial Services Limited is seeking an experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join the Service Desk in Cheadle. You will own incidents end-to-end, provide 2nd line support, and mentor peers in a fast-paced ITIL-aligned environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting across Windows Server, AD, MECM, Intune, VMware, and M365, maintaining assets, and contributing to projects while ensuring secure, reliable end-user support for UK colleagues.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Desktop Support / 2nd line Role
• Excellent problem‑solving skills with ability to deliver to tight timescales and changing priorities
• Experience of working in an ITIL aligned environment
• Advanced technical support and configuration of desktop software and hardware including laptops
• Ability to create clear and comprehensive testing and technical documentation
• Technical experience includes Windows Server 2012–2022, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Online
• Software distribution platform experience – MECM
• Virtualization – VMware management
• Strong knowledge of Intune and Autopilot
• Microsoft 365
• Understanding of RBAC
• Understanding of back‑up technologies (Evault/Rubrik)
• Support for Apple Mac devices
• Experience with encryption software (Sophos Central/File Vault)
• Apple iOS support
• PowerShell knowledge

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to colleagues across the business via phone, email, remote and face‑to‑face interactions.
• Take ownership of incidents from start to finish and manage the support queue to meet SLAs.
• Maintain accurate ticket records and manage IT assets and licences.
• Support onboarding, offboarding and role‑based access management processes.
• Create and maintain knowledge articles to improve team effectiveness.
• Contribute to IT projects and deployment of new technologies while identifying process improvements.
