Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal or Senior Design Manager in Newcastle to lead multidisciplinary wastewater or water infrastructure projects, shaping deliverables across the design lifecycle. You will drive technical excellence, manage client relationships and coordinate large teams across complex schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering.
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status with a professional institution (ICE/IMechE/IET/IChemE/CIWEM).
• Relevant water industry experience.
• Takes accountability and leads by example.
• Excellent people management and resource planning.
• Extensive contract, commercial and programme management experience.
• Experience on complex design and delivery frameworks or DB projects.
• Digitally curious and able to collaborate across organisations.

Responsibilities

• Technically lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary wastewater or water treatment projects across the design lifecycle.
• Collaborate with clients, partner organisations and supply chain to maintain Arcadis' reputation.
• Build and sustain adequate resource for delivery and identify recruitment needs.
• Work with Framework Director, Project Manager and Commercial team to manage the programme and deliver profitable outputs.
• Provide line management, career direction and development for team members.
• Promote safety, health, quality and sustainability in all activities.
• Foster innovation and continuous improvement across engineering practices.
• Perform other duties as required by Client Manager or Arcadis Senior Leadership.
