Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking experienced Engineering Design Managers to join our Real Estate team. You will lead multi-disciplinary design input from concept through delivery on critical national infrastructure, ensuring designs are buildable, compliant, innovative and efficient.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and consultant performance.
• Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status with ICE, IStructE or similar.
• Passionate about construction and customer satisfaction, with a focus on high standards and excellence.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction work types, methods and design solutions.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit).

Responsibilities

• Lead design input on multi-disciplinary projects from concepts through to delivery.
• Manage design interfaces; evaluate and guide the design process for constructability.
• Oversee multi-disciplinary teams of engineers from consultants and partners.
• Collaborate with clients, engineering managers, project managers, contractors and consultants on issues, scope changes and risks.
• Drive development of innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions that meet requirements.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations into all design solutions.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical functions.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across the asset lifecycle.
