Job summary

Turner & Townsend in London is seeking experienced Engineering Design Managers to join a growing Real Estate team. You will lead multi-disciplinary design input from concept through delivery, ensuring buildability, compliance, and sustainability while collaborating with clients and contractors.

The role emphasizes strategic thinking, technical leadership, and embedding safety and environmental considerations across civil, structural, mechanical and electrical interfaces.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance.
• Knowledge and experience of BIM and common data environments
• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Chartered Engineer status preferred
• Passionate about construction and customer satisfaction
• Strong knowledge of construction work types, methods and design solutions.
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit)
• Excellent communication skills
• Self-driven and results-oriented
• People management, time management, and project design management skills

Responsibilities

• Lead contract management with external design consultants and contractors.
• Oversee technical assurance, constructability reviews, and design interfaces.
• Manage multi-disciplinary engineering teams across projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and design coordinators.
• Liaise with clients, engineering managers, project managers, contractors.
• Drive innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions.
• Embed health, safety and environmental considerations.
• Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical and electrical.
• Ensure constructability, maintainability and reliability across asset lifecycle.
