Job summary

Airbus Belfast Limited is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to provide technical leadership on night shift, guiding a multi-disciplinary team in the design and integration of aerostructures and systems. You will ensure compliance with airworthiness standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining 24/7 production support.

The role requires a BSc/BEng in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering or an HNC/HND with substantial design experience.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering with 3+ years of design engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft structures and/or systems installation and airworthiness processes.
• In-depth familiarity with aerospace regulatory requirements (CAA/EASA/FAA).
• Ability to apply advanced engineering analysis and testing to complex aerostructures and systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear technical leadership and mentorship to an engineering team.
• Own assigned projects or work packages and meet milestones within budgets.
• Advise across design-to-manufacturing lifecycle ensuring compliance with customer specs and airworthiness.
• Conduct feasibility studies and coordinate with cross-functional specialists, customers and suppliers.
