Job summary

Airbus Belfast is seeking an experienced Lead Design Engineer to direct technical design activities for Structures and Systems Installation. Reporting within our Design Engineering Department, you will lead the night-shift MRB design support, ensuring the product design meets applicable requirements.

The role includes directing staff, collaborating with internal departments, customers and suppliers, and maintaining engineering excellence across the design-to-manufacturing workflow.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng degree with at least 3 years' design engineering experience including management responsibility.
• Alternatively, 5 years' relevant design engineering experience including management responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Directly lead and line manage a team of design engineers.
• Serve as the functional engineering lead for designated programs or projects.
• Maintain design engineering expertise to advise across user departments.
• Conduct project feasibility studies to evaluate technical viability.
