Job summary

Airbus Belfast Limited seeks an experienced Lead Design Engineer to direct technical design activities for structures and systems installation on a permanent night shift. You will lead the MRB design support and mentor a team within the Design Engineering Department to ensure the product meets design requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng degree with a minimum of 3 years’ design engineering experience including management responsibility.
• Or at least 5 years’ design engineering experience including management responsibility.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with senior leadership, customers, suppliers and Certification Authorities.

Responsibilities

• Directly lead and line manage a team of design engineers, driving end-to-end team management and cross-functional coordination.
• Provide functional engineering leadership for designated programs or projects, delivering on schedule and to spec.
• Maintain deep design expertise to advise across user departments and optimize design-to-manufacturing workflows.
• Conduct feasibility studies to guide extensions and identify new aerospace opportunities.
